The Australian Test

Argument: You can differentiate between an Australian and a foreigner through 6 questions.

Figure A: Junction One.

This is a real junction at Melbourne.
Cars 1 and 2 can only turn left.
Car 3 can only turn right.
Car #4 can either turn right or go straight.

Q1: With reference to Figure A, which lane should car 1 turn into?
a) A b) B c) All of the above d) None of the above

Q2: With reference to Figure A, which lane should car 2 turn into?
a) A b) B c) All of the above d) None of the above

Q3: With reference to Figure A, which lane should car 3 turn into?
a) C b) D c) All of the above d) None of the above

Q4: With reference to Figure A, which lane should car 4 turn into?
a) C b) D c) All of the above d) None of the above

Figure B: Junction Two.

This is another real-life junction in Melbourne.
Car 1 can only turn left.
Car 2 can either turn left or go straight.
Car 3 can only go straight.
Lane A is a bus lane.
Lane B is a lane for parallel parking.

Q5: With reference to Figure B, which lane should Car 1 turn into:
a) A b) B c) C d) D e) E f) F g) All of the above

Q6: With reference to Figure B, which lane should Car 2 turn into:
a) A b) B c) C d) D e) E f) F g) All of the above

Most Australians would answer it in any other way other than:
1) A 2) B 3) D 4) C 5) B 6) C

It makes me wonder if they actually have to pass a theory test before hitting the roads.
Such simple questions and they can't get it right.

Don't believe me?
Think that this questionnaire is racist?

Have you ever seen Australians drive?
Spend 20 minutes on the road and you'll experience the evidence for my argument.

I'm just waiting for the one day where I will claim the guy's insurance.
